Democratizing evidence-based care with the help of AI
Joris van Dam is a Data and Digital Health Leader with 20+ years of experience in life sciences. Earlier this year, Joris co-founded Advokare.health, a start-up that is on a mission to democratize evidence-based care with the help of AI. Prior to that, he built a clinicogenomic platform of 12+Mio cancer patients at Exact Sciences, led the Digital Therapeutics program at Novartis, launched a mobile platform for community-based heart-health screening of underserved populations in Zambia, founded a real-world data and analytics company, and led the development of a digital health platform supporting HIV patients in India. Joris holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam.
Data scientist, entrepreneur, and two-time exit founder
Eli Goldberg, PhD, is an accomplished data science leader, entrepreneur, and core angel investor. He is a core angel with Springboard Health Angels, a Berlin-based investment and venture fund, and the founder of Goldberg Consulting LLC (GC LLC), which supports life science and payer industries with clients including BMS and PwC. Previously, he served as VP of Data Science at Current Health, which was acquired by Best Buy Health for $400M. His experience includes senior roles in clinical analytics at CVS Aetna, scientific intrapreneurship at Novartis, and founding several healthcare startups. He also serves on scientific advisory boards in the US and Australia and holds advanced degrees from ETH Zurich.
Founder & CEO @ Sama Therapeutics
Shobi Ahmed, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and historian-anthropologist working at the intersection of precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and neurotechnology. Shobi is the founder and CEO of Sama Therapeutics, which seeks to transform outcomes in both routine care and clinical trials for complex patients — synthesizing more objective, generative AI-powered biomarkers to eliminate trial-and-error — beginning with neuropsychiatry. In the last three years, Sama’s team has been leveraging a massively multimodal approach and cross-disciplinary skillset across systems biology and machine learning to push the boundaries of biomedical innovation.
Previously, Shobi led pre/clinical development pipelines, trained in pediatric critical care, and triangulated multiomics+natural language processing for drug discovery with pharmaceutical R&D partners. He studied immuno-oncology, medical anthropology, and ancient blasphemy/heresy law as an MD/PhD student at Yale and Harvard, and holds BS/BA degrees in biomedical engineering and history of science/philosophy from Johns Hopkins University.

Michelle Higginson, MBA, is a seasoned operator and marketing leader with nearly two decades of experience spanning technology and healthcare. She helped propel LogMeIn into the ranks of top global SaaS companies, led award-winning campaigns at Boston Children’s Hospital, and drove growth at HBS-founded Avant-garde Health before co-founding Inlightened, the only healthcare insights company prioritizing diversity, technology, and transparency. Michelle is a graduate and post-graduate of Bentley University, and serves on the board of Easterseals Massachusetts.

Moderator – Amir Lahav is the founder of SkyMedAI. He is also a Clinical Scientist, Strategic Advisor, and Global Thought Leader at the forefront of Digital Health, Artificial Intelligence, and Modern Medicine. He is the curator and scientific director of the DHAI Summit. Amir sits on the advisory board of multiple medtech startups and holds strategic consulting roles with leading pharmaceutical companies. During his time at Pfizer, he led the development of wearable tech and remote monitoring solutions for gene therapy trials, primarily in rare diseases. Prior to pharma, he was a PI on numerous clinical trials as a Neurology Faculty and Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
